Trimming Palms: When trimming palms we suggest to only remove brown or yellowing fronds, seed or flowering pods. We do not suggest or perform "Hurricane Cuts" we will only trim from the 9-3 O'clock position. Asian Cycad Scale: This pest is spreading, noticeable as while flaky dusting on your Queen & Even King Sago's, remove ALL branches, careful not to spread this "air borne' scale, remove mulch around base of plant & even the top layer of dirt. Cover the base with cooking oil, horticultural oil. Check this Link for complete simple info. Here's Another Link which has great photo's
Palms: one of the most recognized Florida Landscape additions this Tropical Evergreen for the most part was imported to the area. The most important factor for a healthy palm tree is good soil. We have many to our area which require little nutrition needs or trimming, while other exotics or premium varieties requires a regular fertilization & pruning program to maintain a health deep green palm appeal.
